After graduating with a Geology Degree from Liverpool University in 1979 I spent several years working as an engineer in the coal industry. After moving into site investigation in the mid 1980’s I set up my own firm in 1988. Originally offering a complete service including drilling, I sold the contracting side in 2007 to concentrate solely on producing reports. To this end I completed my Masters degree in Applied Environmental Geology at Cardiff University and now offer a range of specialist services. These include a full range of geotechnical reports, coal mining risk assessments, contaminated land surveys and permeability testing for soakaway design. These are primarily aimed at architects, private landowners, planning facilitators, self-builders and smaller building contractors in South Wales or surrounding areas.

It would always be my advice to undertake a desk study as a minimum safeguard prior to purchasing land.
